Highland Games and Haggis

At the Foothills Highland Games in Hendersonville, NC we served as vendors with our soapmaking business, Southern Heart Soaps (www.southernheartsoaps.com) and decided to take a few Dollhouse minis with us to share with the Scots and Scots-wannabes.

Using Lesley Shepherd's wonderful tutorial (http://miniatures.about.com/od/dollshousefood/ss/dollhousehaggis.htm), I made up a few miniature haggis and packaged them up along with a few pairs of "food" earrings... they were well-received at the "Games."

It was a cold, windy November day in the Western NC mountains and we even spotted a few snow flurries as we were setting up our booth for the day. Confident that the day's weather would improve, we settled in, covered with coats and cloaks and anything else we could find in the car... this did not happen, the day continued to be cold and gale-force winds knocked our tent over once and tried to a few more times. With the help of some wonderful friends and family who came by to keep us company, we kept the tent grounded and made it through the frigid day... we had a blast even in the cold, the crowds, of course, were diminished due to the weather, but we had enough traffic to keep us there all day... Fun Times!
